BMA strengthens Maritime Training collaboration with Korean delegation

Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA) is exploring opportunities to strengthen its international partnerships and enhance collaboration in maritime education and training following a courtesy visit by a delegation from the Republic of Korea.

The delegation, led by MET Support Center for Kenya Chief Director, Han-Dong Bang, was hosted by BMA Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Eric Katana, at the Academy, where discussions focused on potential areas of partnership and collaboration aimed at strengthening maritime training and skills development.

The engagement provided an opportunity for both parties to explore avenues for knowledge exchange, capacity building, sharing of technical expertise and leveraging international best practices to enhance the quality and relevance of maritime education and training.

During the visit, the delegation was taken through a guided tour of the Academy’s training facilities by the Senior Deputy Director, Maritime Transport and Port Operations Training, Enock Okemwa. The tour provided the visitors with an opportunity to familiarize themselves with BMA’s training infrastructure, equipment and practical learning environment.
