Bandari Maritime Academy strengthens collaboration with Kericho Township TVC to expand Maritime training opportunities

By John Ndegwa / BMA

Bandari Maritime Academy is stepping up efforts to strengthen partnerships with technical and vocational training institutions across the country as part of its commitment to expanding awareness of maritime education, training and career opportunities.

In this regard, BMA Senior Business Development and Marketing Officer, Fatma Mzee, led a delegation from the Academy on a courtesy visit to Kericho Township Technical and Vocational College, where they were received by the College Principal, Shedrack Tonui.

The engagement provided an opportunity for both institutions to explore areas of collaboration, particularly in creating awareness of maritime education and training, promoting skills development and equipping young people with relevant information on emerging employment opportunities within the maritime industry.

During the meeting, Tonui underscored the importance of government institutions working together to empower the youth through skills development, knowledge sharing and partnerships that connect graduates with available opportunities in the job market.

He noted that stronger institutional collaboration would play a critical role in preparing young people to take advantage of emerging opportunities across different sectors of the economy.

Through such engagements, BMA seeks to strengthen linkages with TVET institutions, promote inclusive access to maritime education and contribute to the development of a competent workforce to support Kenya’s growing Blue Economy.
