Coronation of Mr. & Miss Bandari Maritime Academy

Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA) crowned Daniel Mkala and Tashia Kerubo as Mr and Miss Bandari Maritime Academy following the conclusion of a week-long cultural gala held at the institution.
The two emerged victorious after stiff competition from ten contestants who had presented a clear vison of being the ambassadors of the maritime institution.Daniel Mkala, upon receiving the crown, cast a compelling vision of fostering gender equity and equality in maritime training, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity in an industry.
His message resonated with the academy’s mission of preparing well‑rounded professionals for the maritime sector.


On her part, Tashia Kerubo revealed her plans to champion mental health awareness among the youth, highlighting the growing need to address psychological well‑being in academic and professional spaces. Her advocacy drew applause from the audience, reflecting the relevance of her cause in today’s society.
For the female category, Nicol Sulu emerged the first runners up with Grace Gitagia being the second runners up while for the gents, Michael Ngowa emerged the first runners up.The Mr and Miss Bandari event featured stage performances, leadership showcases, and evaluations based on participants’ discipline records at the academy.

Representing the Chief Executive Officer of BMA, Dr. Eric Katana, the Deputy Director of Corporate Services, CPA Evans Oyieyo, congratulated the newly crowned king and queen. He urged them to spearhead good values among students and the wider community, while also serving as ambassadors to market the academy.CPA Ayieyo further commended the leadership of Bandari Maritime Students Association for their exemplary leadership and organizational skills in hosting such a successful event.The coronation not only celebrated beauty and talent but also underscored the academy’s commitment to nurturing leaders who embody vision, responsibility, and service.
The contest also featured Mwachozi Mwashanga, Charles Dawin and James Wanjiru.
