It was a moment of pride and celebration as 28 forklift trainees at Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA) successfully completed their final examination today, marking the culmination of an intensive one-month training programme.
The assessment was conducted by National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) Driving Test Examiner, Benson Odwa, who oversaw both the theoretical and practical evaluation of the trainees’ competence in forklift operations.

The trainees underwent a rigorous 30-day hands-on training led by BMA Senior Port Equipment Operations Trainer, Loth Komora. The programme focused on equipping participants with essential skills in safe forklift handling, warehouse operations, load management and adherence to occupational safety standards.
Speaking after the assessment, Komora commended the trainees for their dedication, discipline and commitment throughout the course, noting that such competencies are critical in enhancing efficiency and safety within port operations, logistics and the broader Blue Economy sector.
The successful completion of the training underscores Bandari Maritime Academy’s continued commitment to delivering industry-relevant skills and producing highly competent professionals ready to meet the demands of the maritime and logistics sectors.

Upon certification, the trainees are expected to pursue employment opportunities in ports, warehouses, manufacturing industries and logistics companies, contributing to the country’s growing demand for skilled port equipment operators.
