Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA), in partnership with Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), has successfully concluded a three-day workshop aimed at enhancing the capacity of the Academy’s project leaders and researchers in developing competitive research proposals and impactful projects.
The capacity-building workshop is part of BMA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its research capabilities, attract competitive funding, diversify revenue streams, and promote innovative initiatives that support the advancement of maritime education and training.
Organized by BMA Board Member Dr. Fridah Simba, the workshop was facilitated by Prof. Daniel N. Sila and Prof. John M. Wasonga from JKUAT.
The facilitators guided participants through critical areas of proposal development, including research proposal structuring, project design, resource mobilization strategies, and approaches for securing competitive research funding.
The initiative is expected to enhance the Academy’s ability to mobilize resources for institutional growth while supporting the delivery of its mandate of developing skilled human capital for Kenya’s Blue Economy sector.
Through strategic partnerships and continuous capacity development, Bandari Maritime Academy remains committed to advancing maritime education, research, and innovation for sustainable sector growth.
