Trainees from BMA undertaking the Basic Safety Training (STCW) course this week have today taken part in practical firefighting exercises as part of their maritime safety training.
The hands-on session provided trainees with essential skills in fire prevention, emergency response, and the safe use of firefighting equipment. Through realistic drills and practical demonstrations, participants gained valuable experience in identifying fire hazards, controlling fires, and working effectively as a team during emergency situations.
The firefighting practical forms a key component of the Basic Safety Training Course (STCW) programme, equipping future seafarers with the confidence and competence required to respond to onboard emergencies and maintain safety at sea.
BMA continues to strengthen maritime training standards by providing trainees with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills that prepare them for the demands of the maritime industry.
