For Athman Mganga, a young man from Mombasa County, the dream of working at sea has always been a source of inspiration and motivation.
Determined to turn that dream into reality, Athman enrolled for the two-day Crowd Management Course at Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA), a programme designed to equip trainees with essential skills in passenger safety, emergency response, and crowd control aboard passenger vessels.
Speaking during the training, Athman expressed confidence that the course will open doors to employment opportunities within the maritime industry and bring him closer to achieving his long-held ambition of becoming a seafarer.
“I have always dreamt of working at sea. By undertaking this Crowd Management Course at Bandari Maritime Academy, I believe I am taking the right step towards making that dream come true,” he said.
He commended BMA for providing quality maritime training and creating pathways for young people to access opportunities in the growing Blue Economy sector.
Athman also encouraged fellow youth across the Coast region and Kenya to embrace maritime training programmes, noting that the industry offers promising career prospects for those willing to acquire the necessary skills and certifications.
The Crowd Management Course is among the internationally recognized maritime safety programmes offered by Bandari Maritime Academy to prepare trainees for careers aboard passenger ships and other maritime operations.
