Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA) has achieved a major milestone after being ranked 5th among tertiary institutions in the latest Performance Contract evaluation, reaffirming its position as one of Kenya’s leading institutions in maritime education and training.

The impressive ranking reflects the Academy’s unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation, accountability, and efficient service delivery in the education sector. It is also a testament to the dedication of the Academy’s management, staff, students, and stakeholders who continue to support its mission of producing highly skilled maritime professionals.

Speaking on the achievement, BMA Chief Executive Officer Dr. Eric Katana lauded the Academy community for its collective efforts in advancing institutional performance and maintaining high standards in training and service delivery.

“This recognition demonstrates our commitment to excellence and our determination to position Bandari Maritime Academy as a world-class centre for maritime education and training. Over the years, Bandari Maritime Academy has continued to invest in modern training infrastructure, technology, industry partnerships, and competency-based training programmes aimed at equipping learners with the skills required in the global maritime and blue economy sectors.

The ranking further validates the Academy’s strategic direction and reinforces confidence among students, industry players, government agencies, and development partners in BMA’s capacity to deliver quality maritime education and training.

As the Academy celebrates this achievement, it remains committed to strengthening its contribution to Kenya’s maritime sector and supporting the country’s vision of becoming a leading maritime and blue economy hub.
