Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA) has intensified its public engagement efforts across the coastal region and the country at large as it seeks to create greater awareness on Maritime and Blue Economy education and training opportunities.

The Academy, under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer Dr. Eric Katana, is proudly participating in the ongoing Mombasa County Career Exploration, Skills Exhibition and Talent Show at the Serani Grounds. The three-day event, organized by the Mombasa County Government, brings together institutions, industry players, students and young innovators to showcase career pathways and practical skills development opportunities.
Held under the theme “Building a Skilled Mombasa through Education, Innovation and Talent,” the exhibition provides a strategic platform for Bandari Maritime Academy to highlight its role in developing a competent maritime workforce to support Kenya’s Blue Economy agenda.
The event was officially graced by Mombasa County Deputy Governor H.E. Francis Thoya, who underscored the importance of equipping young people with relevant technical and professional skills to drive economic growth and job creation.

At the exhibition, BMA is showcasing its diverse range of internationally recognized maritime programmes, including courses in Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, Maritime Transport and Port Operations, and STCW-compliant training. The Academy’s team is also engaging students, parents and stakeholders on career progression pathways within the maritime sector and the growing demand for skilled seafarers locally and globally.
The BMA delegation is led by Senior Career Services Officer Samuel Dube, who noted that such forums are critical in bridging the information gap and inspiring young people to explore careers in the maritime industry.
