The meeting focused on exploring areas of partnership and collaboration, particularly in promoting effective communication, public awareness, and capacity building within the maritime sector. Discussions also touched on the role of the media in advancing maritime safety, training, governance, and responsible reporting on maritime and Blue Economy issues.

Dr. Katana highlighted BMA’s mandate as a centre of excellence in maritime training and expressed the Academy’s commitment to working with the Media Council of Kenya to enhance visibility of maritime education and careers, while supporting accurate and ethical reporting on maritime affairs.
