Today, the Academy’s Partnership and Resource Mobilization Officer, Fatma Mzee, and Career Services Officer, Samuel Dube, held a productive engagement with the Kirinyaga County Executive Committee Member for Gender and Youth, Hon. During the courtesy call, the discussions focused on establishing collaborative pathways that will enable thousands of youth in Kirinyaga County to access training, career guidance, and sensitization programs offered by Bandari Maritime Academy.
Mzee emphasized the critical need for awareness and professional capacity-building to equip young people with the skills required to tap into emerging opportunities within the Maritime and Blue Economy sector, a rapidly expanding pillar of Kenya’s economy.
Dube highlighted the diverse career pathways available through Maritime education and training, ranging from seafaring and Marine engineering to Port operations, Logistics, and supply chain management. He noted that with proper guidance and access to training, youth from Kirinyaga stand a strong chance of securing competitive employment both locally and internationally.
