Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA) proudly joined the global maritime community in celebrating World Maritime Day 2025, alongside the Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA), seafarers, stakeholders, and fellow maritime education and training institutions. The celebrations, held during the World Maritime Day and Maritime Fair organized by KMA, brought together industry leaders and policymakers to reflect on the theme of the day and reaffirm their commitment to a sustainable Maritime future.

The event was graced by Cabinet Secretary for Education Hon. Julius Migosi accompanied by KMA Director General CPA Justus Omae Nyarandi, visited the Bandari Maritime Academy exhibition booth. He commended BMA for its vital role in developing skilled Maritime professionals and contributing to Kenya’s Blue Economy agenda.
Acknowledging this day, BMA Chief Executive Officer Dr. Eric Katana reaffirmed the Academy’s dedication to Maritime education and training excellence. He emphasized that BMA remains steadfast in its mission to build capacity for the Maritime and Blue Economy sectors through internationally compliant training programs and strategic partnerships.

Kenya Maritime Authority Director General CPA Justus Omae Nyarandi called upon all stakeholders including government, industry, academia, and civil society to collaborate in addressing emerging challenges such as climate change, Maritime safety, and marine pollution.
World Maritime Day serves as a reminder of the critical role shipping and Maritime activities play in global trade, economic growth, and environmental stewardship. BMA’s participation highlights its commitment to equipping the next generation of maritime professionals to meet both national and international industry demands.
