Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA) is strengthening collaboration with county governments to promote maritime education and training, expand access to Blue Economy opportunities and enhance youth employability.
This follows a courtesy visit by a BMA delegation led by Senior Business Development and Marketing Officer, Fatma Mzee, Narok County, Chief Officer for Education and Social Services, Simon Kurrami, and Narok County Chief Officer for Sports, Gender and Youth Affairs, Emily Sena.
During the engagements, Mzee underscored the importance of working closely with county leadership in creating awareness of maritime education and training opportunities, particularly among young people and skilled professionals seeking to broaden their career prospects in the maritime and Blue Economy sectors.

She noted that strategic partnerships with county governments would help bridge the information gap, promote access to specialized maritime training and equip more young people with relevant skills to participate in the growing Blue Economy.
The two Chief Officers welcomed the engagement and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting BMA’s outreach initiatives, including creating awareness of available training opportunities and facilitating access to sponsorships for needy and deserving students pursuing advanced maritime courses.
The partnership is expected to strengthen the link between education, skills development and employment while opening up new opportunities for young people to explore careers in the maritime sector.
Through such strategic collaborations, Bandari Maritime Academy continues to advance its mandate of developing competent maritime human resources for sustainable development and contributing to the growth of Kenya’s Blue Economy.
