Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA) has been recognized as the Best Institution and Board on Governance during a three-day Induction Workshop for Boards of State Corporations, held at Lake Naivasha Resort, Naivasha.
The workshop, organized by the Institute of Certified Secretaries (ICS) in collaboration with the State Corporations Advisory Committee (SCAC), brought together board members from various state corporations across the country to enhance good governance, accountability, and leadership practices in public institutions.

BMA’s delegation was led by Chairman Eng. Lung’anzi Chai Mangale, members of the Board of Directors accompanied by Chief Executive Officer Dr. Eric Katana and members of the Senior Management Team. The Academy’s recognition underscores its commitment to excellence in governance, effective leadership, and adherence to best practices in public sector management.
In his recognition remarks, Dr. Katana commended the Board and staff for their dedication to upholding integrity and transparency in institutional operations. He noted that the award reflects BMA’s continuous efforts to strengthen systems, promote teamwork, and align institutional governance with national development goals in the Maritime and Blue Economy sectors.
