Over 130 newly admitted Cadets at Bandari Maritime Academy have officially taken their Oath of Allegiance during a colorful mini pass-out parade, marking the successful completion of their regimental training. The training was conducted under the guidance of Bandari Maritime Academy trainers in close collaboration with the Kenya Coast Guard Service.

Speaking during the ceremony, Bandari Maritime Academy Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Eric Katana, emphasized that regimental training is not merely a formality but a critical foundation for Maritime discipline and leadership. He noted that the maritime profession demands individuals who are not only technically competent but also highly disciplined, organized, and dependable.
“Today, we celebrate not only the successful completion of regimental training but also the transformation of our Cadets into disciplined, focused, and responsible individuals ready to take on the challenges of the maritime profession,” said Dr. Katana.

Dr. Katana further commended the strong partnership between the Kenya Coast Guard Service and Bandari Maritime Academy, acknowledging that the collaboration has been instrumental in shaping cadets who understand the operational and behavioral expectations of the maritime environment.
On his part, Kenya Coast Guard Service Head of Training, Lt. Commander Rodgers Lusasi, lauded the Academy’s commitment to integrating regimental-based training into its curriculum, saying the initiative instills a culture of order, teamwork, and service excellence values essential in Maritime operations.

Echoing the sentiments, Bandari Maritime Academy Deputy Director of Maritime Education and Training, Chief Eng. Titus Kilonzi, highlighted that the maritime profession is not an ordinary career but a way of life governed by hierarchy, respect, and responsibility.
Chief Eng. Kilonzi reaffirmed the Academy’s dedication to producing not only skilled professionals but also disciplined mariners who embody integrity and leadership in every sphere of maritime service.
