A total of 26 trainees pursuing Forklift Operations Course at Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA) today participated in an educational tour at United EA Warehouses Ltd, located in the Shimanzi area of Mombasa.
Senior Port Equipment Trainer Loth Komora led the trainees where he provided the trainees with a valuable opportunity to gain practical exposure to real-world warehouse operations.
Komora emphasized critical aspects of workplace safety, efficient record management systems and best practices in forklift operations within a busy warehouse environment.
The trainees were received by United EA Warehouses Ltd Warehouse Manager, Wilberforce Majale, who commended BMA for its commitment to equipping students with hands-on industry experience.
He lauded the leadership of BMA Chief Executive Officer Dr. Eric Katana for fostering partnerships that bridge the gap between classroom training and practical application.
The trainees were also taken through comprehensive forklift maintenance procedures, covering both gas-powered and electric -powered equipment.
This session enhanced their understanding of routine inspection, servicing requirements, and operational safety standards essential for effective equipment handling.
The educational tour forms part of BMA’s broader training approach aimed at producing competent, industry-ready graduates in the maritime and logistics sectors. By integrating theoretical instruction with practical exposure, the Academy continues to play a pivotal role in supporting Kenya’s growing blue economy and logistics industry.
