Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA) has launched a maritime education and training awareness campaign in Nandi County as part of its ongoing efforts to encourage Kenyan youth to explore career opportunities in the maritime industry and the wider Blue Economy.
The campaign seeks to raise awareness of the diverse training opportunities available at the Academy and highlight the potential of maritime careers in enhancing employability, developing practical skills and contributing to Kenya’s economic growth.

The BMA team, led by Senior Business Development and Marketing Officer Fatma Mzee, has engaged with local communities in the Koitalel, Tindiret and Kipsebwo areas, reaching out to young people and other community members to sensitize them on the opportunities offered through maritime education and training.
Through these community engagements, BMA aims to bridge the information gap surrounding maritime careers, particularly among youth who may not be fully aware of the diverse opportunities available beyond traditional career paths.
The Academy offers training in areas such as Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, Maritime Transport and Logistics, alongside specialized short courses designed to equip trainees with relevant skills for the maritime and port industries.
