BMA reaching out to counties

As Kenya celebrates 12 years of transformative achievements under devolution, Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA), led by CEO Dr. Eric Katana, is proudly showcasing its role in driving maritime education and training at the ongoing 9th Devolution Conference in Homa Bay County.
The conference was officially opened by H.E. President William Ruto, who highlighted that the government has transferred over KSh 4 trillion to counties, fostering inclusivity, equitable resource distribution, and addressing historical marginalization.

Representing the Academy, BMA officials are actively engaging delegates especially young people urging them to tap into vast opportunities in the Maritime, Shipping, and Blue Economy sectors. They are encouraging prospective students to enroll in the Academy’s September 2025 intake, which offers world-class programs including: Nautical Science (Level 5 & 6), Marine Engineering (Level 5 & 6) and Maritime Transport Operations (Level 5 & 6)

The Academy’s participation is spearheaded by BMA Exhibitions Chair, CPA Diana Owitti, who is passionately championing the call for youth to steer their future toward rewarding careers in the Maritime industry.
