A delegation from Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA) is participating in the WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 meetings in Shanghai, China, as the Academy continues to strengthen international partnerships and expand opportunities for maritime education and skills development.
The delegation is led by BMA Board of Directors members Director Joab Tumbo and Director Dr. Fridah Simba, who are representing the Academy in a series of academic, strategic and partnership engagements during the international forum.
The BMA team has participated in academic and strategic meetings focused on skills development, institutional collaboration and international cooperation, providing an opportunity to exchange knowledge and explore emerging opportunities in technical and vocational education and training.
A key highlight of the engagements was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Bandari Maritime Academy and Tangshan Maritime Institute. The partnership is expected to provide a framework for collaboration in areas including maritime education and training, knowledge and skills exchange, capacity building, innovation and other areas of mutual interest.
Other members of the BMA delegation include Deputy Director and Academy Registrar Dr. Irene Mugo.
