As part of its continuous engagement with potential students, parents, and industry stakeholders, Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA) is fully participating in this year’s Nairobi International ASK Trade Fair.

Under the visionary leadership of Chief Executive Officer Dr. Eric Katana, the Academy is showcasing a wide range of its specialized courses in Shipping, Maritime, and Blue Economy education and training. Visitors to the BMA exhibition stand are being introduced to opportunities in Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, Maritime Transport & Logistics, and short professional courses, all designed to prepare learners for rewarding careers in the Maritime sector.

Dr. Katana emphasizes that the Maritime industry remains one of the fastest-growing sectors globally, with Kenya positioning itself as a key player through the Blue Economy agenda. He encouraged professionals with technical skills from other fields to take advantage of BMA’s unique process of “marination”—a pathway that allows skilled individuals to transition into the Maritime industry through targeted training and certification.
Beyond showcasing academic programs, BMA is also engaging parents and guardians to raise awareness of the Academy’s role as a Center of Excellence for maritime training in the region, aligned with international standards such as STCW (Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers).
