Bandari Maritime Academy reaffirms commitment to quality with successful KEBS Audit

Bandari Maritime Academy has been successfully approved for continued certification following the 2nd Surveillance Audit conducted by the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS). The Academy met all legal, regulatory, and policy framework requirements in line with the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems standard.

The approval follows a rigorous two-day audit led by KEBS Lead Auditor Alexander Katiku. Representing BMA CEO, Dr. Eric Katana, was Enock Okemwa, Senior Deputy Director for Maritime Transport and Port Operations Training, who also serves as the Academy’s Quality Management Representative.

This certification affirms that Bandari Maritime Academy has established and continues to maintain a robust quality management system that supports efficient service delivery, drives continuous improvement, and ensures adherence to internationally recognized standards. The recognition by KEBS highlights the Academy’s unwavering commitment to excellence in maritime education and training, operational effectiveness, and stakeholder satisfaction.
