Bandari Maritime Academy CEO, Dr. Eric Katana, today participated in the 19th Ambassadors’ Conference held in Nairobi, where he joined distinguished panelists to deliberate on emerging opportunities within the Oceans and Blue Economy sector.

During a panel discussion themed “Opportunities in the Oceans and Blue Economy,” Dr. Katana highlighted the critical role of maritime education and training in unlocking sustainable economic growth.
He emphasized the need for strategic investment in human capital development to position Kenya as a competitive player in the global maritime industry.
Dr. Katana underscored Bandari Maritime Academy’s commitment to developing a skilled maritime workforce through internationally recognized training programs, aligning with Kenya’s vision for sustainable utilization of Ocean resources. He further noted that strengthening partnerships between government, academia and industry stakeholders is key to harnessing the full potential of the Blue Economy.
