Nautical Science cadets at Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA) visited MV Maria at the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) today for an educational tour to strengthen their practical understanding of ship operations.
The visit provided an opportunity for the cadets to relate classroom theory to real-world maritime practice through exposure to the vessel’s systems, equipment, safety procedures, and shipboard working environment.

Such industry engagements play a vital role in maritime education by enhancing technical understanding, familiarizing cadets with the operational demands of life at sea, and preparing them for the responsibilities of professional seafarers.
Through practical learning opportunities and industry partnerships, BMA continues to strengthen the quality of its maritime training, equipping aspiring seafarers with relevant competencies to support the growth of Kenya’s Blue Economy.
