BMA Extends Maritime education campaign to Njoro to unlock Blue Economy opportunities for Youth.

By John Ndegwa / BMA

Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA) has extended its maritime education and training awareness campaign to Njoro Sub-County in Nakuru County, targeting young people pursuing technical and vocational skills and seeking to explore emerging opportunities in the maritime and Blue Economy sectors.

The campaign aims to equip trainees with information on maritime training programmes, career pathways and employment opportunities available in the growing maritime industry.

BMA delegation, led by Senior Business Development and Marketing Officer Fatma Mzee and Customer Relations Officer Getrude Chao, paid a courtesy call on Nakuru County Government Director of Vocational Training, Catherine Mugo.

The engagement provided an opportunity to discuss the importance of exposing vocational training students to maritime education and the diverse career opportunities available within the maritime and Blue Economy sectors.

The team later visited Njoro Vocational Training Centre, where they interacted with students undertaking various technical and vocational courses, sensitising them on maritime training programmes offered at BMA and the potential career opportunities available in the sector.

Njoro Vocational Training Centre Deputy Principal Catherine Nyawira welcomed the initiative, describing the campaign as an eye-opener for students who may not have been fully aware of the opportunities available in the maritime industry.
