BMA Promotes Maritime Training and Blue Economy opportunities at innovation and business Summit 2026

Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA) is participating in the Innovation and Business Summit 2026 at Tana River Vocational Training Centre in Hola, Tana River County, to create awareness of maritime training, career opportunities, and the potential of the Blue Economy.

The summit, attended by Tana River Governor Major (Rtd) Dr. Dhadho Gaddae Godhana, brings together stakeholders under the broader umbrella of Jumuiya ya Kaunti za Pwani to promote innovation, entrepreneurship and skills development as pathways to economic empowerment and job creation.

Guided by the theme “Driving Economic Growth through Innovation and Entrepreneurship Commercialisation,” the summit highlights the importance of transforming innovative ideas and entrepreneurial initiatives into viable economic opportunities that create jobs and contribute to sustainable development.

BMA is using the platform to engage young people on the importance of acquiring market-driven maritime skills and exploring career opportunities in the maritime sector and the wider Blue Economy.

The Academy is also showcasing how innovation, entrepreneurship and skills development can help young people identify, develop and commercialise opportunities within the growing Blue Economy.

Through relevant maritime training, young people can acquire practical skills that position them to participate in emerging industries while contributing to economic growth.

The BMA team at the summit is led by the Ag. Deputy Director, Maritime Transport and Operations Training, Mr. Enock Okwema.
