Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA) welcomed cadets admitted for the September 2026 intake during an orientation programme to prepare them for their academic journey at the Academy.
The orientation programme introduced the new cadets to the Academy’s leadership, academic programmes, rules and regulations, and student support services to help them settle in.
The cadets will pursue courses in Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, and Maritime Transport and Logistics at Levels 5 and 6.
Speaking on behalf of the Academy’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Eric Katana, Deputy Director Registrar Dr. Irene Mugo congratulated the cadets on securing admission and urged them to remain dedicated, disciplined and focused throughout their studies.
Dr. Mugo further cautioned the cadets against examination malpractice, particularly possession and use of mobile phones in examination rooms.
“At the Academy, we do not tolerate examination cheating. Such an offence warrants a one-year academic suspension.” Dr. Mugo said.
The Registrar also urged the cadets to be good ambassadors of the Academy by conducting themselves responsibly and professionally, both within and outside the institution.
The orientation programme was attended by BMA staff from various departments, who provided the cadets with essential information and guidance as they begin their academic journey at the Academy.
