Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA) today hosted representatives from the Mombasa Youth Council at its booth during the ongoing 11th Our Ocean Conference 2026 at PrideInn Paradise Beach Resort, Mombasa.
The youth leaders were taken through the various maritime education and training programmes offered by the Academy, aimed at equipping young people with the skills and competencies required to thrive in the global maritime industry.

During the engagement, the representatives were encouraged to consider careers in the maritime sector, which continues to offer numerous employment opportunities both in Kenya and internationally. The discussions highlighted the growing demand for qualified maritime professionals in areas such as seafaring, marine engineering, port operations, logistics, maritime safety, and the wider blue economy.
The visit provided an opportunity for the youth leaders to gain deeper insights into the maritime industry and the critical role Bandari Maritime Academy plays in developing a skilled workforce to support Kenya’s maritime ambitions.
BMA remains committed to empowering young people through quality maritime training and creating awareness of the vast opportunities available within the maritime and blue economy sectors.
