By John Ndegwa / BMA

Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA) continues to strengthen its outreach and visibility by actively participating in this year’s Lamu County Career Day 2026, held at Mkunguni Grounds in Lamu Island.

The event has brought together students, educators, industry players and training institutions, providing a valuable platform for career guidance and skills development.

Representing BMA Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Eric Katana, Senior Career Services Officer, Samuel Dube, engaged participants through an informative session highlighting the diverse courses offered at the Academy.

He emphasized the growing opportunities within the Maritime and Blue Economy sectors, outlining clear career pathways and the strong employability prospects for BMA graduates both locally and internationally.

Dube further underscored the Academy’s commitment to equipping trainees with industry-relevant skills through competency-based training, modern facilities and strategic partnerships with key stakeholders in the maritime industry.

Lamu County Career Day 2026 has provided Bandari Maritime Academy with an ideal platform to interact directly with prospective students, create awareness on maritime careers, and inspire young people especially from the Coastal region to pursue opportunities within the Blue Economy.
