Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA) on Wednesday hosted students from Chuka University for an insightful educational tour of the institution, aimed at enhancing their understanding of maritime training and port operations.
The visit was conducted under the leadership of CEO Dr. Eric Katana. The BMA team was led by Senior Deputy Director for Maritime Transport and Port Operations Training, Enock Okemwa, who guided the students through a comprehensive familiarization tour of the Academy’s facilities, programs and practical training areas.
During the tour, students were introduced to key aspects of maritime education, including port operations, maritime safety, and career opportunities within the Blue Economy. The interactive sessions provided valuable exposure to real-world applications of their academic studies and highlighted the critical role of maritime institutions in national and regional development.
Chuka University delegation was led by Procurement Lecturer Lucas Waweru, who expressed appreciation for the opportunity, noting that the visit offered students meaningful industry exposure and a deeper appreciation of maritime operations.
