Undergraduate Programs Overview
The Academy has specialized in offering level 5 and level 6 courses in the areas of Marine Engineering Technology, Nautical Science and Maritime Transport and Logistics.
The Level 5 programs take 12 months while Level 6 programs take 24 months.
These programs have been developed by the key Academy faculty with detailed input and review from the industry players and regulators. The programs which are aligned to the IMO International Convention on Standards of training have been approved by the Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA), Technical and Vocational Education & Training Authority (TVETA) and Kenya National Qualifications Authority, (KNQA).
Before the start of these programs, cadets are expected to undergo medical examination done by doctors approved by Kenya Maritime Authority to ascertain their suitability to sail upon graduation. (List of approved doctors has been shared). In case the cadets health condition does not allow them to work onboard, our team will guide the Cadet on an alternative program.
In our efforts to become a Global Centre of Excellence, our three level 5 and level 6 courses are trained by competent faculty and staff, offering our cadets a unique opportunity for intellectual, professional, and personal development. Cadets engage in both classroom and practical learning. We emphasize more on active learning both inside and outside of the classroom setting them on a path to lucrative careers on land and at sea.
