As the 2025 Devolution Conference gets underway in Homabay County, Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA) has taken a leading role in showcasing its diverse Maritime and Blue Economy courses to delegates attending the high-profile event.

Led by Chief Executive Officer Dr. Eric Katana, the Academy is focusing on engaging youth and communities living along the Lake Basin region, aiming to raise awareness on Maritime education, training and opportunities within the Blue Economy sector.
The conference, which brings together key decision-makers, is expected to be officially opened by H.E. President Dr. William Ruto.
It will be attended by members of the Council of Governors, County Assembly representatives and senior officials from both national and county governments.

BMA’s participation underscores its commitment to equipping the next generation with skills critical to harnessing the potential of Kenya’s water-based resources.
